Maine Coon Kitten Adoption Process | Heritage Springs | A Northern Virginia Cattery
Our adoption process is simple.
Fill out the kitten application and get approved to adopt a Heritage Springs Maine Coon kitten!
You may choose from Available Kittens, join the wait list for a $100 fee which is applied to the purchase price of your kitten, or just wait and see if a kitten comes along you connect with! Joining the wait list is not mandatory, but it ensures you get priority pick of the upcoming litters.
I will invite you to the Heritage Springs VIP Facebook group where we will watch the kittens grow together. I will post photos and videos of the kittens, milestones, and vet visits in the group. I will also answer any questions you want to ask me in the group about bringing home your kitten.
When kittens from each litter are one month old, I will price them based on how well they conform to the TICA Maine Coon standard, their size, the rarity of their color, their show cat potential, and their personality (only one kitten in each litter will receive “best personality” in each litter since all Maine Coon kittens are sweet, social, playful, intelligent, and inquisitive.) The kitten awarded “best personality” is comfortable with strangers, confident, and is even more affectionate toward people than the average Maine Coon kitten- and the average Maine Coon kitten is pretty affectionate! Once kittens are priced they become “Available”.
If you joined the waitlist, when it is your turn to choose a kitten, you may opt to choose a kitten or pass and wait for the next litter. It is our goal to help you find the perfect kitten so there is no limit to how long you can stay on the wait list.
If you joined the waitlist, when it is your turn to choose a kitten, you will get 2 days to select your kitten. During this time, I will send more photos and videos and we will hop on a video call with you where you will see all of the kittens live. You may reserve a kitten at the end of 2 days with a signed contract and a 30% deposit.
If you did not join the waitlist, but your kitten application has been approved, and you fall in love with one of our available kittens, you may reserve the kitten with a 30% deposit and a signed contract- send me a message and I will get you all the details.
Once your kitten has received its rabies vaccine and has been cleared to go home by our veterinarian, you can come pick up your fluffy little ball of cuteness! This happens at 14 weeks of age. The remaining balance for the price of the kitten is due at the time of pick up. If your kitten is being delivered, the remaining balance of the kitten is due before the kitten leaves us for its trip to you.
